It is not that hard to go from one place to another because they have good means of transportation in the country as well as excellent medical facilities that will take care of you. Of course to make sure that you will be able to attain all this and live that happy, healthy and relaxing life in Thailand, you will have to look for ways on how to take advantage of the immigration opportunities there. You will need a visa non-immigrant O-A for this. You can get hold of this at a Thai embassy in your country.
You will be required to submit certain documents that will support validity of your application. First you need to be 50 years of age to apply and has a financial capacity of THB 800,000 deposited to a Thai Bank account. This financial amount must be in the bank for at least 3 months before applying for a visa. You will also need to show a proof of monthly income which amounts to THB 65,000. Take note that police clearances or medical certificates are not required in applying for this particular visa if it is released in Thailand.
You have to take note of a few more factors such as a retiree is not allowed to work in Thailand. Your retirement visa can be valid for a year but you can have it renewed just in case you meet the right requirements. You will also have to provide details of you current address to the immigration office after ninety days.
